Upon finding a dead robin in her garden, Emily Dickinson begins to ponder the mysteries of death. After her best friend, Benjamin Newton, gives her a copy of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Emily begins to explore the possibility of giving life back to the dead. When a galvanism experiment using a dead frog is demonstrated by her biology teacher, Leonard Humphrey, her curiosities are fueled even more.  Emily decides to build a small apparatus that will give life back to small dead creatures she finds in her garden.

Upon sharing her invention with her master, he wants Emily to share her knowledge with him so he can build a larger apparatus that will work on a human. Emily is hesitant at first, but when her best friend Newton dies, Emily agrees for her own selfishness since she never got to say good-bye to her dear friend.

Will Emily succumb to her selfish thoughts, granting a second life to her beloved friend Newton, or will her sense of spirituality get in the way? Science and Religion. Love and Hatred. Life and Death. It's all the same without poetry.

DICKINSTEIN will be released October 26th through Rocking Horse Publishing.
